The Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica enters its fourth season with a strengthened calendar, new international initiatives and a growing role within the Porsche one-make racing landscape.
Following a successful 2025 campaign, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica continues its development as one of the most dynamic Porsche one-make platforms in Southern Europe. The championship begins its fourth season with renewed ambition and a broader international outlook, building on a year marked by increasing grids, strong media exposure and growing international participation. The new season was formally introduced during the third PSCI Awards Gala, held at the renowned Quinta da Pacheca in Portugal’s Douro Valley. The event brought together drivers, teams and partners to celebrate the 2025 champions while presenting the strategic outlook for the upcoming championship.
Racing structure and calendar
On track, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica maintains the racing format that has defined the series in recent seasons. The 2026 calendar features events at Monteblanco, Estoril, Valencia, Jerez and Navarra, before the championship concludes with a second visit to Estoril. Sprint races and endurance contests will once again deliver varied competition formats, rewarding both outright performance and strategic consistency throughout the season. During selected events, the latest-generation Porsche 992 Cup car will also be present for demonstration runs and test sessions. While not competing in the championship, the car will offer teams and drivers the opportunity to experience the next evolution of Porsche one-make racing technology ahead of its wider international introduction. Track time has also been increased for 2026, with extended free practice sessions providing additional preparation opportunities for drivers and teams during race weekends.
Developing future talent
Alongside the main championship, the Porsche Ignition Series GT4 will continue to provide a development pathway for emerging drivers. Featuring the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, the programme offers an entry point for karting graduates, young drivers and gentleman competitors entering the Porsche racing ecosystem. The championship also continues to support diversity initiatives such as the PSCI Women Academy, aimed at encouraging female participation and creating new opportunities within the sport.
Strengthening international visibility
Beyond the sporting framework, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica has been expanding its international presence through a series of strategic initiatives, reinforcing the championship’s integration within a wider network of global events and institutional partnerships. Earlier this year the championship presented the 2026 season in Dubai through the exclusive “Track of Flight: The Arte Gallery” event, hosted at the VIP terminal of ExecuJet Middle East. The initiative brought together motorsport, aviation and art, reflecting the championship’s growing connections with global business and lifestyle communities. The event also marked the announcement of EvoqueMag Internacional as Official Media Partner for the 2026 season, strengthening the series’ international communication strategy. In parallel, the championship has also been present at leadership platforms such as an event, hosted by the municipality of Cascais, highlighting the major global events scheduled to take place in the region. The Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica was featured among the key international sporting platforms connected to Cascais, and also the Women Summit, organised around International Women's Day, reinforcing its commitment to inclusion within motorsport.
José Monroy: “PSCI is growing far beyond the racetrack” José Monroy, series manager of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, believes the championship is entering an important new phase of development: “Our ambition has always been to build more than just a racing series. The Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica is becoming a platform where sport, business and international partnerships meet. We continue to strengthen the competition on track while opening the championship to new audiences, new markets and new opportunities. The 2026 season represents another important step in that journey.” With a balanced calendar, evolving structure and a growing international footprint, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica continues to position itself as an increasingly relevant platform within the Porsche one-make racing landscape.
