The 2026 Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica is set to make a splash in the media and has unveiled the calendar for its fourth season

PSCI is preparing to take another decisive step in its sustained growth. The organisation is currently in advanced negotiations with a Portuguese media group to secure full live coverage of all six rounds of the 2026 season.

The media group currently under negotiation includes some of the channels with the largest national audiences, which will enable the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica to reach millions of viewers, thereby increasing the exposure of the drivers and teams. Media coverage of the championship will also be bolstered across the group’s other platforms, including digital content and specialist programmes. This media exposure could lead to an increase in the number of cars on the track and, consequently, a more competitive and attractive spectacle, significantly enhancing the return for sponsors and partners.

The fourth season of the PSCI will consist of six rounds. Two will take place in Portugal, both at the Autódromo do Estoril – which will once again host the Grand Finale – and four in Spain, at the circuits of Monteblanco, Valencia, Jerez de la Frontera and Navarra. With the calendar now finalised, the season is set to begin for drivers and teams, both those already in the field and those who will be joining a competition where the technical parity of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars places the focus exclusively on the talent and competitive ability of those behind the wheel. In sporting terms, the 2026 season introduces a new feature. Free practice sessions will be extended from 20 to 30 minutes, increasing the track time available to teams and drivers, whilst the rest of the race format remains unchanged, with two qualifying sessions (15 minutes each), two Sprint races (20 minutes plus one lap) and one Race 3 (50 minutes) per round.

José Monroy, Series Manager at PSCI and head of P21 Motorsport, highlights the current state of the competition: “2025 exceeded all our expectations and we want 2026 to be even better. Last year we had live streams on channels dedicated to motorsport in Germany and Italy, and the final round was broadcast live on V+ and TVI, with this coverage providing a huge return for the drivers and sponsors. For this season we are in advanced negotiations and hope to announce an agreement shortly for the live broadcast of the entire championship on free-to-air television.”

As for the competition format, he highlights “the extension of the free practice sessions to 30 minutes, whilst the rest of the schedule remains unchanged. This This year we will have the new Porsche 992.2 Cup Car available for testing; it will only be used in the Supercup and the Porsche Cup North America, but from 2027 it will compete everywhere. The Porsche Ignition GT4 Series programme will also be in action, aimed at young drivers coming from karting, ‘Gentleman Drivers’ and less experienced drivers, who will race together but with separate classifications. Finally, the ‘Women’s Academy’, which was a success in 2025, and we are being contacted by more women keen to enter competition, some with impressive track records, suggesting it will be a success once again.”

With a well-established sporting structure, a balanced calendar and strong media ambitions, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica enters 2026 determined to raise the competitive standard and the series’ international profile once again.
