The fourth round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica brings a new addition to AF Motorsport’s line-up. Chloe Grant will have Dutch driver Tomas Slootweg as her new teammate in the Portuguese team’s Porsche 992 GT3 Cup.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica returns to action next weekend, with AF Motorsport introducing an important new addition for the second half of the season. Tomas Slootweg will join Chloe Grant at the wheel of one of the Portuguese team’s Porsche 992 GT3 Cup cars. For the young Dutch driver, it will be his debut in the PSCI and the first of three challenges scheduled for 2026: Jerez, Navarra and Estoril. Born in The Hague and just 21 years old, Slootweg arrives in the championship with a particularly unusual background.
Motorsport entered his life only very recently and his accumulated experience is still limited. He only began testing racing cars in October 2024, without any previous background in karting or other disciplines, and contested his first race on 15 July 2025, at the wheel of a BMW M240i. Less than a year later, he is ready to take on one of the most demanding cars in GT racing: the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup.
Six days of testing to prepare for a new challenge
Despite his short career, Slootweg already has seven race starts and two podiums to his name. At Jerez, he will compete in the Silver Class, approaching his participation primarily as another stage in his learning process and preparation for the future.
The driver himself makes no attempt to hide the scale of the journey he has completed in such a short period of time: “I started my motorsport journey in October 2024, with no prior karting or racing experience, and made my debut in a BMW M240i in July 2025. In 2026, I have been working intensively to make the step up to the Porsche 992 Cup, completing several test days with MDM Motorsport and AF Motorsport in preparation for the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica.”
The objective is equally clear. Jerez will not be an isolated experience. After the Andalusian round, Tomas is expected to return at Navarra and Estoril, seeking to “gain as much experience as possible for the 2027 season in a Porsche one-make championship. I’m very excited about this new chapter and can’t wait to share this journey with everyone throughout the rest of the season.”
Chloe Grant arrives at Jerez on a new level
On the other side of the Porsche will be a driver who knows perfectly well what it means to accelerate the learning process. Chloe Grant arrived in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica in 2025 after building her career in karting and single-seaters. She began racing at the age of seven, spent seven seasons in karting, won a scholarship at the age of 15 that allowed her to begin her car racing career and subsequently competed for two seasons in GB4 before taking part in the inaugural F1 Academy season in 2023.
In 2025, she made the transition to GT racing and the PSCI, beginning a learning process that the British driver believes has profoundly transformed her driving: “I think I have improved a huge amount over the past year. Going straight from single-seaters into a Porsche Cup car was obviously a big challenge, but I think throwing myself into such a demanding environment actually benefited me a lot and taught me so much.”
Her move to AF Motorsport in 2026 allowed her to take another step forward. Chloe particularly highlights the professionalism, experience and relationship she has built with the Portuguese team: “AF Motorsport have been phenomenal. They are a fantastic team to work with. They push me to keep improving while also making the whole experience so much fun. After spending so much time together this year, they have genuinely become like a family to me.”
From the Valencia podiums to one of her favourite circuits
The first half of the season confirmed Chloe Grant’s increasing competitiveness. The British driver progressively moved beyond fighting solely for the leading positions in the Ladies Cup and began regularly challenging for the top positions in the overall standings. Valencia provided one of the clearest demonstrations of that progress.
During a particularly demanding weekend due to the high temperatures, Chloe claimed second and third places overall: “Valencia was probably my favourite moment of the season so far. It is a tough circuit, especially when the temperatures are so high, and our race weekend was extremely hot. I really enjoyed that challenge and we also had a very strong weekend, coming away with a P2 and P3.” Now comes Jerez. And there could hardly be a better setting in which to begin this new partnership with Tomas Slootweg.
When asked about her favourite circuits on the PSCI calendar, Chloe places Jerez alongside Estoril: “We are very lucky to have some incredible circuits on the calendar in this championship, but I would probably choose Jerez and Estoril. I had some very good results at both circuits last year, and they are also quite different from many of the tracks I have raced at around the world. They are both incredibly challenging and a lot of fun to drive.” AF Motorsport’s new pairing therefore brings together two very different career paths.
Chloe Grant is 20 years old but already has more than a decade of competition behind her, with experience in karting, single-seaters, F1 Academy and Porsche racing. Tomas Slootweg began testing racing cars less than two years ago and contested his first race only in the summer of 2025. There is, however, one common denominator: both see the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica as a fundamental platform for growing within the Porsche racing world.
