As the start of the 2026 season approaches, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica continues to strengthen its international profile through new partnerships, strategic collaborations and growing anticipation across the paddock.
Following the official presentation of the new season earlier this year, the championship has entered the final phase of preparations for Round One, with teams and drivers completing testing programmes and finalising their sporting plans. The months leading into the new campaign have also been marked by several initiatives reinforcing PSCI’s position within the wider Porsche one- make ecosystem.
Strategic partnerships expand the PSCI network
One of the highlights of the pre-season period was the announcement of a strategic collaboration with GT Race Marbella, a private automotive hub based in Marbella. The partnership was officially presented during an event hosted at the club’s facilities, bringing together members of the international automotive community, prospective drivers and partners.
The collaboration aims to create new pathways into Porsche one-make racing while connecting the championship to a broader network of high-performance car owners, motorsport enthusiasts and international investors. Through this partnership, PSCI and GT Race Marbella will work together on initiatives such as driver introduction programmes, trackday experiences, corporate motorsport events and recruitment for development initiatives including the Women Academy and Ignition Series. The championship has also welcomed SV Charter as a new partner for the 2026 season.
The international executive aviation company joins PSCI as an official sponsor and will be present throughout the season, including branding on the championship’s Safety Car and hospitality activities during race events. These partnerships reflect PSCI’s expanding network of international collaborators and reinforce the championship’s positioning within a broader ecosystem that connects motorsport, mobility and global business communities.
PSCI continues to launch drivers into international competition
Another important milestone for the championship comes through the career progression of Manuel Alves, the reigning Category 2 champion. After finishing runner-up in the inaugural 2023 season and securing back-to- back titles in 2024 and 2025, Alves now moves to the Porsche Carrera Cup France, marking the next step in his career while remaining within the Porsche Motorsport ecosystem. His progression highlights one of PSCI’s core objectives: providing a competitive platform capable of developing drivers and preparing them for higher levels of international Porsche one-make competition.
PSCI Series Manager José Monroy sees Alves’ move as a strong validation of the championship’s development pathway: “One of our main goals has always been to create a platform where drivers can grow and prepare themselves for the next step in their careers. Seeing Manuel move on to Porsche Carrera Cup France after three outstanding seasons in PSCI is something we are very proud of. It shows that the championship can serve as a launchpad within the wider Porsche Motorsport pyramid.”
Countdown to Round One
With partnerships established and drivers preparing for the new campaign, attention now turns fully towards the start of the season. The 2026 Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica will once again feature a balanced calendar across Portugal and Spain, combining sprint and endurance racing formats while continuing to welcome drivers from multiple nationalities and competitive backgrounds. As the championship enters its fourth season, the atmosphere in the paddock reflects a growing sense of anticipation. Teams are finalising their line-ups, new drivers are preparing to join the grid and returning competitors are aiming to challenge for the titles across the different categories. With the grid shaping up and preparations intensifying, the countdown to the opening round is well underway, promising another season of competitive Porsche one-make racing in Southern Europe.
