Salvador conquered, this Saturday afternoon, the “pole position” for the first race of the fourth round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica (PSCI), at Autódromo do Estoril, beating Francisco Mora by 0.110s and Manuel Alves by 0.482, these being the the only ones who managed to place themselves in the “second 35”, after a very close qualification.
At the opening of this Cascais Racing Weekend in which the PSCI focuses all attention, Salvador was always at the top of the timesheets, seizing first place on the grid for the race to be played later this afternoon, while his rival Mora was a short distance away and the young Manuel Alves once again gave an excellent account of himself, reaffirming himself in the trio that has dominated the ProAm category and, at the same time, at an absolute level. Vasco Barros still couldn’t keep up with the pace of those opponents and was even surpassed by the three fastest riders in the AM category. In the latter, the young José Barros was in the spotlight, standing out by a small advantage both from Leandro Martins and the newcomer Miguel Lobo.
In the GD category, the returning Miguel Caetano entered with the right foot, gaining almost a second on Aloísio Monteiro and a little more on the British Frank Barrett.
This first race promises to be lively, as has been happening since the beginning of the season, given the balance of paces in this reunion of the Porsches with the Estoril track.
