Championship’s official tyre supplier plays a key role in the high competitive standards seen at Monteblanco and Estoril.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica continues to establish itself as one of Europe’s most competitive one-make championships and, in that context, Michelin once again demonstrates why it remains one of the world’s leading references in motorsport tyre development. As the official tyre supplier of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, Michelin has played a decisive role in the high level of performance displayed during the opening two rounds of the 2026 season at Monteblanco and Estoril.
In a championship where the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup places enormous demands on tyres through lateral loads, braking forces and power delivery, the medium compound selected for the season has delivered a particularly effective balance between outright performance, consistency and durability. Throughout the first two race weekends, drivers benefited from an exceptionally broad and stable operating window, allowing them to maintain high levels of grip and competitiveness for virtually the entire duration of the Sprint races.
This characteristic proved especially important in a format featuring four races in a single day, placing significant demands not only on drivers and teams but also on tyre performance consistency. The robustness of the French manufacturer's product has also been highlighted by the extremely low number of tyre-related incidents recorded so far.
Punctures, cuts and excessive degradation have been virtually non-existent, confirming the reliability of a solution designed to meet the demands of Porsche competition worldwide. The variety of conditions encountered during the opening rounds further reinforces this conclusion. From the high temperatures and abrasive surface of Monteblanco to the changing conditions experienced at Estoril, including heavy rain during the closing stages of the final race, Michelin tyres consistently delivered predictability, confidence and performance.
According to José Monroy, Series Manager of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica: “When we analyse the level of competition we witnessed at Monteblanco and Estoril, it is impossible not to acknowledge Michelin’s contribution. The tyres performed exceptionally well, allowing drivers to push throughout almost the entire race distance while maintaining impressive levels of consistency and safety. In a championship as demanding as the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, that reliability is absolutely fundamental”.
With two rounds completed and competitive balance becoming increasingly evident, Michelin continues to establish itself as a strategic partner of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, contributing directly to the quality of the racing, driver confidence and the technical excellence that defines the championship.
