The Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica continues to reveal the drivers confirmed for the 2026 season and one of the line-ups already secured is the Spanish pairing of Borja García and Alejandro Barambio. The two drivers will compete for GT Corse behind the wheel of a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup, forming one of the most competitive duos on the championship grid. The continuation of Borja García and Alejandro Barambio in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica confirms GT Corse’s ambition to fight for the main titles in the competition.
Both drivers naturally emerge as individual contenders for the Category 2 title, the most important title of the championship, while the Spanish team also positions itself as a strong candidate for the Teams Cup, thanks to the consistency and competitiveness demonstrated throughout the season. The duo stood out particularly in endurance races, where their combination of experience, consistency and strategic efficiency allowed them to secure victories and podium finishes throughout the season.
Born in Cuenca, Alejandro Barambio gained visibility in several Spanish GT and endurance championships, mainly driving Porsche 911 GT3 Cup machinery as part of the GT Corse structure. His partnership with Borja García quickly proved highly effective, with the pair collecting victories and titles in Spanish endurance competitions while building a reputation for strong consistency and race strategy in longer events. Barambio soon also established himself within the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, showing strong pace in the sprint races when competing solo and excelling in endurance races alongside García. It was precisely in this format that the GT Corse duo secured two victories during the 2025 season. Borja García is one of the most experienced and respected drivers in contemporary Spanish motorsport.
Born in Valencia, García began his career in karting and quickly progressed through the junior formula ranks, gaining international recognition by winning the World Series by Nissan title in 2001. The Valencian driver became a key figure in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica in both 2024 and 2025, where he achieved victories in sprint races as a solo driver and in endurance races shared with Alejandro Barambio.
For José Monroy, Series Manager of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica, the presence of this pairing further strengthens the competitiveness of the grid: “It’s excellent news to continue counting on drivers like Borja García and Alejandro Barambio in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica. They are two extremely competitive drivers who have already shown their ability to fight for victories and to be among the main protagonists of the championship. The presence of teams and drivers of this level raises the competitive standard of the grid and reinforces the international projection of PSCI.”
With the confirmation of the García / Barambio pairing, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica continues to build a grid that combines international experience, emerging talents and ambitious racing projects, further strengthening the championship’s position as one of the most dynamic Porsche one-make platforms in Southern Europe.
