The Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica bids farewell to one of its greatest protagonists. Manuel Alves, two-time champion of Category 2 (Porsche 992 GT3 Cup) in 2024 and 2025, and runner-up in the inaugural 2023 season, is ending his journey in the competition to take on a new challenge in the Porsche Carrera Cup France.
Always technically supported by LOB Motorsport, the Portuguese driver built one of the most consistent and dominant careers in PSCI history. Over three seasons, he achieved one runnerup finish and two consecutive titles, maintaining a truly remarkable record: a podium finish in every race he competed in.
After a clearly dominant season in 2024, with nine wins in twelve races, Manuel Alves confirmed his competitive maturity in 2025 by securing the title in one of the most demanding championships ever, marked by strong competitiveness and decisions that went down to the final moments of the season.
Reflecting on his journey, the driver highlights the competition’s impact on his development: “I entered the Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica at a very young age and found a very high level of demand and professionalism. It was a big challenge from the start, but I managed to adapt and grow as a driver. The balance of these three years is extremely positive, and I am very proud of everything we achieved.” Now, the focus shifts to a new international challenge, while remaining within the Porsche ecosystem: “I will continue in the Porsche Carrera Cup France, which will be a very demanding championship with very strong grids. It’s an important step in my career and I’m highly motivated. PSCI will always be a home for me, and I will remain connected to the competition and the team.”
The driver also highlights the competition’s growing media presence, expressing confidence in PSCI’s near future: “The Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica is already at a very high level, but I am convinced that in 2026 it will take an even bigger leap. The agreement with the Media Capital Group will bring a completely different level of exposure to the championship, with live broadcasts and a very strong media presence. This is essential for drivers, teams, and sponsors, and will certainly help raise the level of the competition even further.” For José Monroy, Series Manager of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica and head of P21 Motorsport, Manuel Alves’ journey also reflects the evolution of the championship itself: “Manuel is a clear example of what the Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica represents.
We saw him grow from a very young age, evolve race after race, and establish himself as an absolute reference. He is a driver who has marked the history of PSCI.” “Seeing him take this step to the Porsche Carrera Cup France is a source of great pride. It shows that we are fulfilling our purpose: to create a competitive platform capable of preparing drivers for international challenges. Manuel will always be part of our history and a true ambassador of PSCI” he concluded.
Manuel Alves’ departure closes a highly successful chapter, but it also reinforces the international projection of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Iberica, which continues to establish itself as a platform for developing talent and providing access to increasingly demanding stages of European motorsport.
