In the titanic battle that takes place with Dylan Pereira for the Category 2 title of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Ibérica 2025, Manuel Alves returned to demonstrate why he is one of the two great protagonists of the season. The LOB Motorsport driver had a perfect Saturday in Jerez de la Frontera, conquering pole position, winning and finishing the best race in Sprint Race 1, held this Saturday at the Jerez Circuit – Ángel Nieto, in Spain.
Pole, victory and best return: total exhibition of Manuel Alves
Starting from the first position of the team, after being the fastest in Qualification 1, Alves does not have any competing hypotheses. He started at the front, impôs his rhythm from the first corner and led all 13 volts on the Andalusian layout. Soon after, he increased his advantage over the opponents, crossing the finish line with 6.7 seconds of margin over the second classified. To crown an irrepressible exhibition, we now have the best turn of the race, at 1:47.374, confirming the total dominance of the Portuguese pilot and LOB Motorsport in this Sprint Race 1.
In general victory, we have a beautiful victory in category 2 in the PROAM Class. José Barros (AF & V Motorsport) completed an excellent performance by finishing in second place, after a brilliant start that led him to surpass Alejandro Barambio (GT Corse) in the first round. From now on, stay firm in your position, guaranteeing even more absolute standing, in Category 2 and in the PROAM Class. The third position on the podium was occupied by Jorge Ramirez (RGB Racing Team), whose match broke Barambio’s pace and led him to fall to fifth place in the competition. Ramirez wins Classe AM. Between them was André Fernandes (AF & V Motorsport), who put together a solid race and finished in positive fourth place, confirming the team’s great momentum. Já Asier Gorostiza (GT Corse) was the best in Classe GD among the 992.
Rui Miritta wins again and Hernández consolidates leadership in Category 1
In Category 1, reserved for the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup, Rui Miritta (Monteiros Competições) dominated from start to finish, winning in outstanding fashion. The Portuguese driver failed to follow his rhythm from the start and remained isolated until the end. Miritta stands still for the trophy referring to the victory in Classe GD. The dispute for second place was lively and involved the two main candidates for the title: Nuno Inocêncio (Monteiros Competições) and Pablo Hernández (Fenix Racing). After a difficult start, Inocêncio fell to the last positions, but recovered volta by volta, finishing behind Hernández. The Spanish resisted pressure and guarantees the second position, adding valuable points to reinforce the leadership in the category. Hernández was one of the best in Classe AM among the 991.
